These two operating systems are very similar in many ways, but they are very different in others. For one, the main differences include their hardware requirements, their features, their screen size and their user interfaces. So, if you are looking to purchase a new phone, you might want to consider the differences between these two devices.

The most obvious differences between the Apple iPhone and the Android based operating system are the hardware requirements. There are actually two different hardware requirements for the iPhone; however, the device needs an iPhone chip, and also a wireless connection. With the Android operating system, there is only one hardware requirement, which includes a cellular network. The reason for this hardware requirement is so that the device can make use of the network’s data instead of using up a battery, and can make use of the data for making calls, sending text messages and so on. The other hardware requirement of the iPhone is that the user must have a USB cable to connect the device to the computer and a micro SD card. However, the iPhone does not need a micro SD card. In fact, the phone can only connect to the computer with a USB cable.

With the iPhone, the user is also allowed to download applications from the internet, although this feature is actually limited to applications developed by the Apple Corporation. With the Android operating system, the user is also allowed to download applications from the internet, but there is no limitation as to how many applications the user may download. Of course, there is also the possibility of installing applications from an Android application store. The iPhone, therefore, has a wider scope of what it can do when compared to the Android operating system. Although both operating systems can play a role in enhancing the user’s multimedia experience, the iPhone has a larger scope. For example, it can play music and videos as well as using the internet for accessing websites, whereas the Android operating system has no such capability.
