According to documents released by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue stems from a potential fluid leak in the anti-lock brake control module, leading to electrical shorts that could result in fires, whether the vehicles are stationary or in operation. Owners are being advised to park their vehicles outdoors and away from structures until the necessary repairs are completed.

Owners can go to www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and key in their 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if their vehicle is affected.
